Review: I had the worst service and they stole my money. They charged me $976.41 for a renewal, even though it was only $334.18. To top it off, they increased their service fees by 200% without any prior notice.

Review: Not Recommended for Irish Domains I was a customer of HostPapa for several years, and while their hosting services were generally okay, I wouldn’t recommend them—especially if you have an Irish domain (.ie). During my time with them, there were a few hiccups. For example, they once asked me to clear out my email because it was using too many resources. The real problems started when I decided to move my website to another provider due to a steep renewal price—€1,070.69 for a 3-year hosting plan. I moved the hosting elsewhere but kept my domain with HostPapa. That turned out to be a mistake. If you only have a domain with them (without hosting), they don’t offer DNS settings—just nameservers. Eventually, I decided to transfer my domain. I found a new registrar that offers full DNS access and requested an EPP code from HostPapa.

Review: I run a small personal website and was a happy, loyal customer with Lunarpages for 10+ years before it was taken over by Hostpapa in late 2019. Everything continued as usual for 1.5 years, but then I started receiving emails that "excessive resource usage" was detected on my account. They made some suggestions to optimize my website but never helped me figure out what was actually causing the sudden "excessive" usage. I thought that was what support was for? When I wasn't able to remedy the problem, they threatened to suspend my account. The only "solution" they provided was upgrading to a higher web hosting plan (which was twice as expensive) which I repeatedly told them I was not willing to do, unless they could explain what was causing the use of the resources and help me solve it. This went back and forth for more than a year with them letting off for a little while and then pestering again without helping me actually pinpoint the problem.

Review: Unfortunately there isn't any rating below 0; so 1 it is. For the past wee while I have been having stability issues with my VPS's; been told and assured that upgrading to a dedicated host would be the way to go and it would solve all the issues; upgraded and paid for services in full! and since the server has been more down than up! its been 7days and the server is still down with no access to it; communications from support is quite useless; I would stay as far as I can; I had some websites on hostpapa that I moved away and since they work perfectly well! hostpapa said I consumed my usage and need to upgrade also; but instead I moved the services away. Review: Issues on and off since hostpapa took over lunarpages, including changes rolled out without notice that disrupt default services. Tech support is pretty good about helping resolve these, but it shouldn't be necessary. Money grab to spend more fixed some of the issues. If low expectations and occasional (now) calls to tech support to resolve things that show up with no changes on your end suit your need, this is it. Otherwise, keep looking. -- Update for clarity: examples of changes rolled out without notice included changing of domain name servers and email configurations, each impacting service.

Review: Will Get emails about Resource Useage Solid price at sign up but overall experience was not good. I started getting emails from Ivan telling me my simple wordpress site was using to many resources and affecting other clients. He kept emailing to get me to upgrade and threating suspension of service until i upgraded. I have used HostPapa in the past and it is always Ivan emailing about resource usage and needing to upgrade, I think it is a sales strategy. The package I signed up for was wordpress pro, you would think the "pro" would stand for having enough resources. Because Ivan kept emailing I checked my account to see when the expirey date was and notice the account I signed up for on a 3 year term for $ 197.00 was set for a renewal price of $ 863, now I am glad Ivan kept emailing me so I could cancel and move to another less scammy provider.

Review: HostPapa treats acquired customers like garbage HostPapa acquired the hosting company where my little website was hosted about 18 months ago. I kept trying to reach my server at all or hit the control panel and it wasn't accessible. Their support would offer unhelpful things like "we just rebooted the whole virtual host, try right now" - they don't even have real linux admins behind the scenes of whatever clownshow they run. They sure billed me for another year tho

Review: One-Star is Too Generous — Run, Don’t Walk, Away from HostPapa This has been, without exaggeration, the most mind-numbingly incompetent support (technical and billing) experience I’ve ever had — with any company, in any industry. All I asked was for two hosting accounts to be merged and upgraded to a higher-tier plan. A simple 10-minute task, which would’ve even earned them an extra $150. Instead? 39 emails! Yes, thirty-nine. Over ten days. And still — it’s not done. Each time, I repeated the same instructions. Each time, they either ignored, misunderstood, or rewrote reality in ways that would make Orwell blush. It’s like every reply was generated by someone dropped headfirst into tech support after a coma. To call this amateur hour is an insult to amateurs. The team at HostPapa is like a live-action remake of "Idiocracy", only less efficient. They create chaos, confusion, and make you question your own sanity.

Review: Review for HostPapa I had one of the worst experiences with HostPapa. I purchased a URL and email service through them, and without any warning or explanation, both suddenly stopped working. I immediately contacted support and supplied them with all the necessary hosting and purchase information. Despite spending hours and even days trying to resolve the issue, I received absolutely no help. HostPapa denied ever hosting my URL or even having an account under my name, despite the fact that I provided proof of purchase. Their refusal to take accountability or assist in restoring my service was incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. A company that sells and hosts domains should at the very least offer transparency, communication, and reliable customer service—HostPapa delivered none of these. I would strongly advise others to avoid this company if you value your time, your business, or your peace of mind.

Review: We have been having website issues for four days and the technical support team don't seem to be in any hurry to fix it. Four days of lost sales are very costly for our business. Hostpapa initially tried to blow it off as a Shopify issue, despite everything pointing to a Hostpapa issue. At least they are now admitting the problem is with them, they are just taking their sweet time to fix it while we lose customers. Moving to a new provider.

Review: HostPapa bought out my old host, LunarPages. At first it was a positive change. My site loaded faster and that was all I cared about so I renewed. I don't update my website (a webcomic) much anymore, I burned out and lost interest but I still keep it online and will at times upload something. Much to my surprise, about 2 years ago I started getting you've used too many resources notices every few months. I'd reach out to their tech support and they'd recommend a few things and eventually the problem was resolved or it resolved itself. The problem is bots. It is always bots. This would keep happening and get worse every 5 or so months. Each time customer service got slower, more generic, and of course I'd always get that upsell. The most recent occurrence tech support straight up demanded a 100 dollars to recommend anything. I keep offering to switch hosts if they reimburse me for my unused time but they always ignore the suggestion. Would not recommend.

Review: I was with them for 10 years. I started off with a shared plan, but then they forced me to upgrade to a VPS as they said I was using too many resources. They offered no help to try and reduce resource use, (which according to 3 other host providers was easy) and forced me into a very expensive plan that I did not need. They did very poorly at optimizing the server, even though I paid for a managed service. The customer tech support takes 1-8 hours to respond, and it is a new person every time and they do not read through the conversation history so you have to start over and re-explain the issue over and over. It is super frustrating. I would not recommend them when there are many better compagnies that know what they are doing.

Review: A mixed bag.. A mixed bag... We've been having issues with our email storage limit and though support is generally pretty good the lag time in communication has extended our problems way longer than it should. Part of their solution was to offer us upgraded hosting with large capacity and one of their associates, Daniel, offered us a deal for the upgrade. When we responded, 3 days later - he said the offer was no longer available and we'd have to pay full price! No mention of this in his original offer that there was a time limit, and no consideration that this was over the holidays and even if we had responded immediately, he would have received our response and got back to us any sooner.

Review: Hostpapa scores again Hostpapa has always been reliable both in its product delivery as well as customer service. In particular, the recent server migration disconnected my website email which I view from outlook. I called for technical support. Jarly was the epitome of customer service - spoke clearly, patiently and demonstrated competency. It was a lengthy call due to unforeseen issues which Jarly handled with confidence and assurance. Ultimately the set up was completed and Jarly deserves a gold star.

Review: Terrible Experience Terrible Experience – Avoid HostPapa Reseller Hosting All my websites have been down for almost a week, and the support ticket is still unresolved. The only response I get is, “We know the issue and are working on it,” but nothing has been fixed. This level of downtime and poor support is unacceptable. I strongly do not recommend HostPapa Reseller Hosting if you need reliable service

Review: I strongly advise using any other hosting provider except Hostpapa. I signed up for a three year plan, and I was careful in making sure the cost they stated was correct. According to them, it wasn't, and a year later I am charged 200+NZD! They claim I signed on for many add ons that i didn't want or need. When talking to them they at first agreed to refund me to shut me up, and then declined claiming I should have known when I signed on for the three year plan (also claimed they emailed me renewal notifications, however, these were sent to my client's email which I don't have access to so perhaps for once they were telling the truth!). I have since moved money out my account to avoid their scams. Images loaded super slow despite being a New Zealand server. Please avoid my mistakes and NEVER trust them

Review: Their service is great when they want you to buy. I was told it is Canadian owned and someone would help set up my MS365 and my .ca email for the domain I set up. So I purchased business standard and the domain with promises of 24/7 support via phone, email, or chat. It has been over 24 hours and I don't have my email set up or access to any of the MS365 programs. They say they have emailed the team who can help. They are not available by any means except email. They cannot provide a timeframe, but "rest assured" I will get an email back. Completely not what they promise. I am setting up one email address for a new domain.

Review: I have been with hostpapa for 6 years. I took the offer of 1.95/month then renewed for 3 more years for just over £74 in total. The latest renewal was for £604. I cancelled my payment information with them thinking my account would just expire on the end date but found they had already taken payment for the full amount 15 days before the renwal date. By the time I saw my new card statement the 30 days cancellation period had passed and they have refused to credit me back anything at all. This was a total and blatant ripoff. Re: [#12201733

Review: BUYER-BEWARE: This is a company that gets you in the door with cheap hosting and then after your term expires they increase the price 100-200% along with changing the term (1 to 3 years). My hosting costs for a very simple site went from $9/mnth to $27/mnth resulting in me now having to move my hosting elsewhere. READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE GOING WITH THIS COMPANY!
